I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this:
The iPhone App Store has been really slow for me the past few weeks, in particular downloading of apps. Is there a setting I can change for this, or is it just how things are now? Apps will get stuck at 70% downloaded and just stay that way for minutes, sometimes up to half an hour or so. It's really irritating at times, to be honest, and I wonder what I could do to fix it. Seems odd for it to persist for weeks, and I have doubts that everyone is having this or it'd be all over Twitter. And everything else on the iPhone like TV, Youtube, TuneIn, Safari and the rest are fast and fine. It's just the app store.
I, too, would like to know if anyone else has this problem. I echo leo's thoughts completely.
strange, I have not had that problem at all. Have you tried resetting your phone?
You mean do the wipe thing in Settings General Reset? I really don't want to. Sure, I have everything backed up on iCloud but I really don't want to have to put everything back lol
I've been having an issue where bye I click update on my apps, and about 75 percent of the way done, it simpley says unable to download. Just started in late december.
my downloads finish. they just take forever.
what I meant was you can do a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. You don't half to back anything up because you won't lose anything. I had to do this once because voice over stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. But everything was fine afterword.
Another reset that will help if say VO is running sluggish or apps are freezing is from a lock screen, press the power buttons 6 times rapidly. I use this on the 5 a good bit when sound seems to get extremely loud after using external sound sources like headphones or blue tooth speakers.
Thanks for the two resets, guys. I will try this. Thanks and this is why sites like this are so very useful. Where else, after all, can we find these types of things for us?
Thanks.
OK I did the press the home and lock buttons for ten seconds, it came back but I had to redo my Accessibility Settings from iTunes to re-enable Triple Click Home and VoiceOver.
I probably did it wrong, is my personal suspicion.
Anyway once that got all sorted out, using iTunes, I've gotta say it's fast.App store downloaded two updates fast enough I could not get to the icons to see the progress meter - they were already done.
Thenks to TechnologyUser2012 and BigDogDaddy for your help.
You did it right. VoiceOver used to come up automatically when resetting but doesn't now.
i have no problams. with the app store.
Me neither. It always works fine for me, not that I download many apps.
